Injection moulding machines are characterized by the clamping force they can apply to the mould. The mould’s opening and closing mechanism is a tough piece of technology, which involves powerful forces. Ties bars are used for both mould guidance and clamping force transfer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tie bars are subject to very heavy demands. The forces that can occur in the tie bar are very high and it must not fail in any way. No matter how well the tie bars are manufactured, breakage still results from poor alignment or load errors, and this is still a common problem with injection moulding machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can usually repair a broken or fractured tie bar. We will only offer new parts if repair is not possible. We offer new ties bars with diameters up to 200 mm maximum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reconditioned Tie bars<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Injection moulding machines undergo heavy loads and must withstand powerful forces. So, this puts the very highest demands on the machinery. Good dimensioning and the right choice of materials are of great importance in tie bar design, because despite all the attention paid to manufacturing, there is a constant risk of fractures or breakages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, at Euro-Stel, a fractured or broken tie bar is not a lost cause. Most tie bars can be repaired, and we recondition them to as-new for a fraction of the new price. Usually, we can recondition tie bar nuts too. If not, we will manufacture new ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tie bar reconditioning methodology is certainly interesting when it comes to machines with greater tonnages (>400t). In such cases, this often involves more expensive parts that are not readily available from the machine manufacturer’s stock. We can handle reconditioning a tie bar within 3 to 5 days, so your machine downtime is minimized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
